HKBU Student Flag-raising Team wins championship in national flag-raising competition

A team comprising members of HKBU’s Student Flag-raising Team?Cen Yuetong, Gao Chang, Niu Shuyun and Liu Weisi won the championship in the University/Tertiary category at the Hong Kong Army Cadets National Flag-raising Competition for National Security Education Day on 6 April at the Youth Development and National Education Base in Tsing Yi. A total of 14 teams from six universities and other post-secondary institutions, including?two HKBU teams, participated in the competition. All teams performed the flag-raising ceremony in the Chinese-style.

Organised by the Hong Kong Army Cadets Association, the competition aims to enhance young people’s awareness and understanding of national security through flag-raising displays. While cultivating national identity, patriotism and a sense of responsibility, the competition also intends to strengthen young people’s discipline, team spirit and patriotism with affection for the country and Hong Kong.
